Do you expect Klefbom to get any PP points now that he's on the 2nd unit? I also don't think the top pairing has been doing enough. They've been "taking on water" quite heavily since Klefbom returned. |

You've now cursed Reider to go goalless for the remainder of the season, and then score 30+ next year with the Flames after he signs for 3 years at 700k per. I hope you're happy. |

I think it's actually possible they make it.
McDavid always seems to go on a tear at the end of the season and there are only 3 teams ahead of the Oilers.
I'd prefer they don't make it but playoff hoxkey would be nice |

Could you imagine? The Seattle team would be looking like a good choice at that point

It's not gonna happen. Before Sekera returned, this team was 8 points out; since he returned, the team has gone 5-1-2 and they're still 7 points back. That's a pace of 1.5 standing points/game. If they were to continue that pace until the end of the year, they'd add 24 points (10-2-4) and reach just 89 points on the year. Meanwhile, our opposition that have 72 and 73 points respectively only need to play one win above .500 in order to beat us out. And this is without mentioning the Coyotes who have been on a good tear themselves and are 4 points ahead of us. |

Dude, if they went 10-2-4 for the rest of the year, I would be ecstatic! Regardless of if the miss they playoffs and finish 9th or 10th in the West. I just enjoy watching the Oilers win |

In any other year I would agree 100% but the bottom half of the west is so streaky this year it’s possible....the Wild might stumble as might Arizona or the Avs but then again the Oilers could easily do the same....but if all else fails we do have L50Ns chase for 50 goals

I'm intrigued by Pat Verbeek. AGM & Director of Player Personnel in Tampa since 2011 (director of pro scouting in 2010) who worked as a pro scout in Detroit prior to that. Seems like he fits what Nicholson is wanting in being a talent-evaluator and having experience in organizations known for such. Given the two teams he's worked with, he might also have some useful hookups for future scouting and development hires. |

I doubt the Oilers even talked to him... they certainly haven't offered him a job. |

Don't confuse my pessimism regarding their playoff chances as not wanting them to win. I want nothing more than to see this team win games- even if it means missing out on Byram. I'm just countering/tempering Corporal Optimism's faith. |

Hey I would gladly take on anyone who worked under Yzerman in Tampa Bay.....while Yzerman has proved to be a good GM I feel like you need a good team around you as well yo be successful so that wouldn’t hurt my feelings if they looked at Verbeek |

I would be quite surprised if they didn’t talk to him but then again maybe I shouldn’t....I do think the Nonis stuff is just Dreger keeling his cousins name out there....it’s what I tell myself anyways |

This is the Oilers, though. I wouldn't put any level of stupidity beyond their hypothetical reach. If there's any franchise that would hire Nonis, it's the Oilers. |

Well seeing as they did 1 proper search out of thier last 4 GMs it just goes to show if they do it proper or not they will find a creative way to (frank) it up
